The Werkraum Schöpflin creates a place where creative breaks and cultural education are not only possible, but a living practice.
This space also serves as a platform for current social discussions and as a centre for cultural unrest - open to people of all ages. On behalf of the Schöpflin Foundation, the Werkraum brings together a variety of cultural events: from theatre performances and readings to concerts, films and lectures that address socio-political issues.
Particularly noteworthy are the regular in-house productions with renowned artists as well as the opportunity for active participation in workshops, reading clubs and extensive school projects. The Werkraum places a special focus on the promotion of literature and reading culture.
Culture is essential. It enriches our lives through theatre, concerts, readings and more, and appeals to children, young people and adults.
Society and culture
The Werkraum takes up socio-political topics twice a year. The focus is often on a self-produced play, such as a puppet theatre or a staged reading. This is complemented by suitable events from various genres such as theatre, film or lectures. The range of topics is broad and extends from democracy and nutrition to war and flight.
Cultural education
During the holidays, we offer creative workshops for children and young people. Artists and experts from various fields lead these programmes. They not only bring professional expertise, but also a love of experimentation and experience. In addition, information evenings and portfolio courses help with orientation in creative professions. Registration for the workshops is possible online.
The website was relaunched and technically simplified. The parameters for SEO have been optimised.
